Living a lighter life in all senses of the word. Physically, emotionally, mentally and environmentally.
Physically – From May 2017 until December 2017, I lost 17kg. It was a journey of a few different approaches, that led me to a whole-food plant based diet. Throughout this journey I learnt so much about nutrition, how to love food and the whole process that goes with it, and also change my mindset regarding food, calories and weight. I have never felt healthier, happier and lighter in my life.
Mentally and emotionally – together with losing a reasonable amount of weight I think one needs to go through some sort of mental process and journey as well. These past few years I have also had to deal with some personal revelations and situations that weren’t always easy, but living an authentic life, with an open heart full of love, is so much better and for sure a lot lighter. One underestimates the effect that emotional stress and struggles have on one’s physical health and wellness. Letting go and dealing with emotional issues, makes for a lot lighter living.
Environmentally – trying to live a lighter life by using less plastic, buying less clothes, being more conscious of how and what I do, and how this impacts the world around me. Living a more simple life makes one more aware of what you have, what you need and how much unnecessary things one actual has in one’s life. Being more aware of what footprint we leave on Earth, and how we can go about using less.
This site is my outlet, a place to share and build a community of like-minded people, who want to be part of something, make a difference and enjoy this beautiful life!
